He had been ill recently and was hospitalized at Saint Anthony Hospital where he died of Pneumonia on Christmas day! Charles was born in Rock Island, IL and evidently came to Rockford during or after the Sophomore year as his name only appears in the 58 and 59 yearbooks. He had been living in Rockford but the private services will be held in Rock Island with burial in the family cemetery named Memorial Park. For more details, see his obituary.

  • (posted 10/3/11) Classmate John Contarino recently relocated to Tallahassee, Fl where he was able to visit with another classmate Jerry Johnson who lives in Milledgeville, GA. They had their own little mini-reunion! Coming together at the midway point in Americus, GA, about 100 mile drive for both of them, they found plenty to talk about for almost three days. John and Jerry have remained friends since high school seeing each other from time to time in addition to the five year reunions. By the way, if you remember, Jerry Johnson is married to our class of 59 classmate Judy (Jonason) Johnson.

  • (posted 10/1/11) We had great weather for the 52nd annual Mini-reunion picnic at Sinnissippi Park September 17, 2011. It was a chance to visit and hear the news from some who had not seen each other since the previous event last year. Pete Zammuto again made the arrangements which included an evening dinner at Lino's Restaurant with several food selections. There was plenty of time to visit with everyone which included some classmates from far away - Carol (Rolig) Robb from South Carolina and Ella (Cavitt) Frese from Tennessee. Several prizes were raffled off and there was microphone time for those who had something to say to the group. Many photos were taken by Sue (Jarrett) Martinetti and Julie (Peeples) Thompson and can be viewed in the Photo Gallery section.

Our records show him married to Joanne Fuller. We do not have much information about Ted or an obituary but his death has been confirmed in the social security death database. We will attempt to find out more about his life and welcome help from other classmates who may remember him. He was at West for all three years and was active in the ROTC.

His son Brad (the second of four children), has given us a few interesting thoughts and observations about his Dad that you can read by clicking on Brad Fuller's Notes.
